Lutino Blue & Gold Macaws

This picture came across my email and I have had a lot of people asking about it after I shared it with a few friends. Now we are on a mission. Does anyone know anything about these babies or the breeders that produced them? I wouldn't be surprised if the owners of these babies have kept them in hiding. I would love to get more pictures of them as they grew up, hoping they are ok. :)  Please email me if you know anything about them. I will keep peoples identity secret if desired. :) You are more than welcome to pass this page to others to spread the picture of these beautiful birds.

I will post any and all updates here. So far there has been no word about these birds. Hiding rare birds is very common. We need your help. Have a rumor? Let us know and we will post it here. :)

**UPDATE**   3/02   These guys have been pretty elusive. :) Here is what I have heard from a reliable source. These two babies were hatched 2 years ago. They are a male and female. They came from seemingly normal parents who produced normal colored babies in the past. They were a major surprise when they hatched. I may have more info soon.

**UPDATE**   4/02 Full article with all the details and pictures in the current issue of American Federation of Aviculture Watchbird Magazine. There are 5 Lutino babies, they are in Texas. This is not confirmed but I have heard that one died in surgery for a broken leg. If this is true I don't know if there were 6 and now are 5 or there were 5 and now are 4.

**UPDATE**   5/03 It has been a while since an update but I was able to get some verifications and a new picture. Only one of the Lutinos was a female. The female was the one who passed away during surgery for a broken leg. The remaining males are all paired up with a normal colored female Blue & Gold Macaws. It takes a long time and determination but a breeding line of Lutino B&G Macaws is being attempted. The new picture below is of one of the males with it's normal color mate.
